Arrived Safe and Sound

Hello,
We had a few dramas at the airport. First of all Maaikes passport expires 5 days short of 6 months so they had to call immigration in Honiara and make sure it was ok for her to still fly After a long wait, where Maaike was ready to head back to Brisbane we were told she was allowed to come - THANK GOODNESS!
The next drama was on the solomons 2 team, Laura couldnt find her passport, and so ended up missing her flight, hopefully she will find it or get a replacement and be out here either thursday or next tuesday. will keep you updated.
We are in Honiara at the moment - man its HOT and the internet is slow.
Last night we just chilled in the house we are staying at, had dinner and all had an eraly night.
The house we are staying in is of better standard than we all expected - we have beds! nice beds!
We have been informed of a few things we will be doing here this week.
Today we had to register with The US Commision and the British Commision so they know we are here and will be able to help us in case of any emergences. Later on we will be getting information about the culture and the way of life here. We will be taking a few youth churches this week, but still more details to come. There is a big youth conference on the 20th of June, so we have been asked to help set up for that, i do not know what it entails yet.
Both Solomons teams leave on Wednesday next week, Solomons 1 to Western Provence (this is where we take the fast boat which takes up to 10 hours!) and Solomons 2 fly to Makira on wednesday also.
Hope this paints a wee picture of what we are up to.
We are all well and just trying to adjust to the heat and humidity. Think it was about 27degrees when we arrived yesterday afternoon and this was a cool day aparently.
Thats all for now, will post more information before we leave on wednesday next week.
Remember us in your prayers and Laura especially as we still are not sure of whats happening there - thanks, Solomons 1.
